A Dialogue with Dr. Michael Beckwith & Dr. Robert Thurman

Friday, May 22
7:30p.m.
Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room
Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr.Robert Thurman first met at Beckwith's Agape International Spiritual Center, where the energy moved Thurman to tears. This meeting marked the beginning of a friendship and collaboration of two great teachers of spiritual work and dialogue. Rarely are the two together for presentations. The Sun Valley Wellness Festival invited both teachers to address the our audience. We are honored to present this exceptional event as our keynote presentation.
Dr. Michael Beckwith began and inward journey into the teachings of East and West in the 1970's, and today teaches universal truth principles found in the New Thought-Ancient Wisdom tradition of spirituality. He teaches that inner spiritual work, not religious dogma, liberates us. He brings together insights from a range of spiritual paths to form a coherent practice that is neither Eastern nor Western but truly spiritually global. As one of the foremost spiritual leaders, founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center, and a featured teacher in The Secret, Dr. Beckwith is a powerful force for change.
Dr. Robert Thurman is Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, President of Tibet House US, and President of the American Institute of Buddhist Studies.
He was the first American to have been ordained a Tibetan Buddhist Monk, and counts the Dalai Lama as a personal friend for over forty years. A worldwide authority on Asian history, comparative religion, Tibet and Buddhism, he has made the teachings of the Buddha more accessible and meaningful than any other Westerner. In doing so, he has become a leading voice of peace and compassion. Dr. Thurman views Buddhism not only as a religion but as a system of education with intellectual fulfillment and emotional contentment, with wisdom and compassion as its goals. His grasp of the subject encompasses the spiritual as well as the practical and political.
A Dialogue with Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr. Robert Thurman takes places Friday, May 22 at the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room. Individual tickets are available for $40 for general admission or $100 for preferred seating. Tickets for the event may also be combined with a Sun Valley Wellness Festival Pass. The Sun Valley Wellness Festival Presents ~Toni Childs ~ In Concert at the Sun Valley Pavilion
|
Three-time Grammy award nominee and Emmy award winning artist Toni Childs to rock your soul at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival
Childs makes her way to Sun Valley fresh off her performance at President Obama's Inaugural OM Ball and a whirlwind tour with Jackson Brown. This soulful songstress was a natural match for the festival. Her musical style is hard to pin down, sometimes it is world beat, others times rock 'n' roll, sometimes a bit country, or even Beatlesque, but the soulful lyrics and beguiling voice always make it distinctively Childs'. She says of her latest album Keep The Faith, "It's not faith in the context of religion. It's faith in the context of one's self and faith. We create what we focus on, and if you focus on fear you can create that in you; if you focus on gratitude and peace, you will create more gratitude and peace". Keep The Faith is available on iTunes now or in stores May 5th. Concert tickets are available starting at $15 for upper tier or lawn seating, $25 for general admission, and a limited number of preferred tickets are being offered at $100. Preferred tickets are the best seats in the house, and include a pre-concert reception with special guests and refreshments. Individual tickets for the concert can be purchased online at the Sun Valley Pavilion website or by calling the Sun Valley recreation office at 1-888-622-2108 or 208-622-2135.
